LRLX Publication #6: Placeless

Living Room Light Exchange’s seventh season took place 2020–2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, entirely on Zoom. I was invited to survey the season for LRLX’s sixth publication, Placeless, and I attended each program from my own living room. Alongside written reflections for each of the seven exchanges between two artists (one from the San Francisco Bay Area, one from somewhere else in the world), I created seven ballpoint pen drawings with my growth spells practice, exploring networked containment, the blurring of space and time, and potent residues from each conversation.

Placeless was published in 2022, and features work by Jenny Odell, nkiruka oparah, Char Stiles, LRLX NY organizers Sarah Burke and Nicholas O'Brien, Marisa Elena Duarte and Jacob Meders, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, a survey of LRLX season 7 by Helen Shewolfe Tseng, a special edition textile print bookmark by Ranu Mukherjee, and designed by Justin Carder.
